Dozens of paitings were created by the students that hope to spread cheer and joy in an often unhappy environment. The artwork will be displayed in waiting and exam room areas for patients and healthcare workers to enjoy. Colleges Against Caner is made up of students, faculty and staff dedicated to fighting cancer and supporting programs of the American Caner Society. Members of the Colleges Against Cancer Club arrived at the Lourdes Radiation Oncology Department Friday morning to donate artwork they created themselves. VESTAL (WBNG) — Binghamton University students are spreading cheer to those who need it most this holiday season. “There’s a lot of people who are dealing with things that aren’t so happy,” said Binghamton University Senior Hannah Gulko. “We wanted to remind them that there is something bright, something positive to look around for. Whether that be people who work here or the people that come here for treatment.”

ENDICOTT (WBNG) — This week, the Endicott Water Department is facing two separate water main breaks. Call Endicott’s Water Department with questions or concerns at 757-2443. Tuesday’s water main break on DouglasDrive has been repaired. Thursday morning at approximately 9:30a.m. a line broke on Cheryl Drive. Area residents who areexperiencing discolored water should run the cold water until it runsclear.
Weidman tells 12 News the board worried that an outbreak at the fair could impede the progress the Southern Tier has made in reopening. Agricultural Society President Mary Weidman tells 12 News this is the first time the fair has been canceled in 173 years. The first fair was held in 1847. Weidman says the board was “overwhelmed” in making plans for the fair amid the COVID-19 pandemic. (WBNG) — The Chenango County Fair has been cancelled for the 2020 season.
“We wanted to find some way to honor the road and remind people what the road is and why it was named such,” so we started a motorcycle ride and here it is,” said ride organizer Harvey Baker. Organizers say it’s a way of reminding everyone where the name came from, while also paying tribute to two Medal of Honor recipients; Terrence Graves and Robert Stryker. Both Graves and Stryker lived along the route. OWEGO (WBNG) — Starting off at Owego Free Academy and ending at the American Legion in Hannibal, the 12th Annual Veterans Memorial Highway of Valor Tribute Ride cruised on Saturday. The ride follows Route 38, which is named to honor veterans of the Vietnam War. The ride included more than two hundred participants, and added a stop in Groton. Participants were encouraged to wear masks and practice social distancing when not riding.
