This German town just unveiled Elvis Presley traffic lights

first_img FRIEDBERG — The people of Friedberg, Germany are shaking, rattling and rolling across streets thanks to a new set of cool traffic lights.Earlier this week, the small town unveiled three Elvis Presley-inspired lights that include his iconic swinging silhouette when flashing green, and him at the mike when lit red. And why Friedberg?Turns out, the King of Rock ‘n Roll was stationed at Ray Barracks in Friedberg during his stint in the U.S. army in the late 1950s. While in Germany, Presley also lived in nearby Bad Nauheim, and now the two towns maintain a friendly rivalry over which is considered Presley’s true German home.We’re not sure how Bad Nauheim can top Friedberg’s Elvis lights – any suggestions?
