Air India salutes women achievers
On the occasion of International Women’s Day, Air India Eastern Region organised cultural and creative engagements for its women employees and honoured few of its women achievers who have braved all odds to come out in flying colours.To ignite the creative spark among employees, pottery and mask-making workshops were organised in which the women employees explored their creativity and aesthetic sense. An informative workshop ‘Good Health and Good Diet’ was held where an eminent woman doctor and an acclaimed lady nutritionist addressed issues on woman health. These employees shared their inspiring story of overcoming difficult terrain of life in a panel discussion ‘Soaring High to Success’ moderated by GM Personnel ER Navneet Sidhu at the airline’s Kolkata office recently. The event concluded with a cultural programme – mapping the journey of women empowerment through poetry and songs. An all-women crew flight was operated between Kolkata and Bhubaneswar early on Women’s day to mark the occasion. A number of women-related cultural events, creative engagements and talks were also organised by Air India throughout its network– reiterating the airline’s constant endeavor to encourage women to have equal standing in every sphere of its activities.
