PHOTO: Chesapeake City Dredging Program Moves Forward

first_imgImage source: USACEThe U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Philadelphia District, is currently conducting dredging operations at the Back Basin in Chesapeake City, Md. Jade Creek Construction won the $2.19 million contract to dredge the basin to a depth of 10 feet earlier in October.Additional dredging is being conducted east of the basin in the Chesapeake and Delaware Canal, said USACE.This cleanup scheme represents the culmination of a long-term effort between the Army Corps of Engineers and the Maryland Department of the Environment.The project is expected to be completed in late January, 2018.Image source: USACElast_img
