first_img Pinterest Google+ WhatsApp Facebook Homepage BannerNews There’s been a significant rise in the 14 day Covid incidence rate in a number of areas of Donegal.The rate of infection is up almost 60% in Milford and 50% in North Inishowen.There has however, been a drop in the Letterkenny, Glenties and the Lifford/ Stranorlar electoral areas.The 14 day incidence rate for the entire county remains the highest in Ireland at 246.9 per 100,000 of the population.In North Inishowen the 14 day incidence rate of Covid-19 stands at 795.8, up 50% compared to previous figures with 135 cases of the virus confirmed there in the 14 days up to December 14th.In South Inishowen, where 61 cases have been confirmed in the past fortnight, the rate of infection is up 19% to 272.7.The Milford electoral area has seen the biggest rise in infection, up 58% to 275.9. 38 cases have been confirmed in the area over the past 2 weeks.19 cases have been confirmed in Donegal, bringing the incidence rate to 71.7 per 100,000, up 5% on the previous fortnight.Glenties now has the lowest rate of infection in the county at 41.8, down 33% with 10 cases confirmed there over the past two weeks up to December 14th.The rate has decreased in Letterkenny to 228.3 compared to 322.2 and down 23% in the Lifford/ Stranorlar area to 154.5 cases per 100,000 people.68 cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed in Letterkenny in the 14 days up to Monday and 40 in Lifford/ Stranorlar.
