Pomona falls to SF State

Garcia connected on his first goal off a rebound with 10 minutes left in the first half to tie the match at 1-1 before George Nixon gave San Francisco State a 2-1 lead when he connected on a header off a cross from Jonathan Tarabini. At the 46:10 mark of the second half, the Broncos’ tied the match again on a penalty kick by Dustin Venegas. The match remained tied until the 80:05 as Kyle Loftis scored what proved to be the game-winner. Cal Poly Pomona falls to 5-9-3 overall, 4-6-1 in CCAA play. Leonard’s run closed a 10-play, 65-yard drive with his 13-yard TD run with 2:35 left to close the scoring. Randall Brown led the Mounties on the ground with 20 carries for 72 yards. Wide receiver Travis Lee caught seven passes for 59 yards. He also had seven kickoff returns for 170 yards, including a 70-yarder. Mt.
